I have had a year of absolutely incredible experiences, and I would like to take a moment to thank all of the incredible people in my life who have supported me.
At the beginning of this year, I was lucky enough to be approached by Viva for a "young up and coming chef's" piece which they were doing.
At the time, I was the head chef of a small cafe in Grafton called Ceremony.
It was at Ceremony that I first started developing my menu writing abilities and began to start really being able to experiment with different foods.
I truly couldn't tell you what my favourite food is, but if I could get close it would definitely be something traditionally made back home.
I moved to New Zealand from the Philippines when I was 10 years old and quickly started realising how much I really loved food and how I loved having the opportunity to create and cook for people.
I have since made a career out of doing exactly what it is that I love, and I feel incredibly blessed to come from such a culture and food rich background which has enabled me in that way.
